Hi Lulu!
Best advice: book early so that you can be in the same cabin for both cruises.
Changeover day: they assemble all b2backers for coffee & danish. Then lead them off the ship, through re-entry and voila! It's very simple. Afterwards, you can do as you wish. If you choose to remain onboard, just a warning that many venues are closed (ie pool). So be prepared with a game or good book.
If I can answer any other questions, I will.
We have taken a couple of B/B cruises, both with the same cabin. On the first we stayed on the ship and got a new seapass. On the second we debarked and stayed in a designated area for B/B passengers and reboarded together when they were ready. I think the latter is the way they do it all the time now.
Like Bobster said except we had to change cabins. Went very smoothly though. We enptied the drawers and bathroom, left all the clothes in the closet. Three crew members arrived, grabbed everyting in the closet still on hangers and away we all went. Had the new digs set up and ready to go before we had to debark and then come back onboard.

LuLu, we did a B2B on the Infinity this past spring--Panama Canal and Alaska. We had to change cabins but moved only from one end of the aft to the other. Changing cabins is a bit more tiresome than staying in the same one. I asked Bob about new cards and stuff, and his memory is as good as mine is.It must have been an easy thing because we both don't have the foggiest idea what we did. Oh dear. I do remember that because we were changing cabins, we had to wait until the cabin we were moving to had been vacated and cleaned before we could move and it seemed to take forever. We were glad we hadn't planned an excursion and didn't get into our new cabin until around 10:30. The staff was wonderful and took all of our hanging clothes and anything else we wanted help with. I liked the extra padding I had on my bed and they moved that over, plus the cabin we were moving to didn't have pads on the loungers and we moved those too.

Lulu, we at first had the same cabin for both legs of our B2B but when we were told we could get $150 off per person by not having the same cabin but instead going for a guarantee CC class instead, we jumped for it.
From what I hear, the process is painless and they might even let us leave everything in the drawers - just swap out drawers from one room to the other. We might take a short run into Miami to get some more Dr. Pepper and Coke Zero cherry or we might just lounge by the pool and relax.
Nothing to sweat over from what I hear.
Now that we completed our B2B I can give you the definitive answer. We stayed in the same cabin for both legs of the cruise.
Disembarkation morning we were asked to go to Michael's Pub at 10 AM. This was after everyone else had started getting off the ship. The only complication was that breakfast was only served until 9 AM so we missed it. We did get some pastries in the Cova, though. After assembling in Michael's we were offered coffee and orange juice and kept there until everyone else was off the ship. Then (around 10:30) they escorted us down to customs where we quickly gave them our info. Then we were escorted back on the ship and given new seapass cards. Everything was left in our room.
When we got back on ship we were taken back to Michael's for snacks (small sandwiches and pastries) , and were told we had full run until the new passengers were getting on. We could either go back to our cabins or we could roam. Actually it was a bit hard getting back to our cabin after the first few minutes since the bulkhead doors were all closed.
We went back to Cova and watched the crew ready the ship for the next group of people. Carlos, the pianist was playing so we sat down for about an hour and listened to him play.
It did give us a chance to meet the crew with their hair let down. Picture it as a time before the play when everyone is getting ready but before everyone is in their role. Very enlightening. We felt special for both cruises and recommend B2B cruises to anyone who can do them.
Never done B2B on Celebrity but have on Carnival. I've done it bth ways, in same cabin and different cabins. Real piece of cake either way, plenty of help from crew.
FYI, Celebrity used to have a special lunch for B2B cruisers but that doesn't happen any more. I understand that was a very special lunch.
