Well I was going to try it out, but someone convinced me to become an alpaca farmer instead, and I lost interest...

I think you are sailing in a week?

Um, yes, a week and a little more. So we've not really had a chance to try anything out just yet. So far, it's all conjecture.
When I return from the cruise, I'll post the tutorial with 27 8x10 color glossy photographs with circles and arrows and paragraphs on the back of each one ... or the digital equivalents, at any rate.

I just got my new camcorder tonigth and I'm trying to figure out if I'll be able to hook it up even at all? Did we ever figure out if everything was disabled, or if the RCA and HDMI or even USB inputs work. I can watch my daily video on my lap top, but the big screen is much better.

I still hold out great hope, based upon the specs for similar Samsung units, that even if they supply really lame remote controls, that a button on the lower right side of the TV itself will force it to change video sources. Besides, if you consider that there are suites with larger versions of the same sort of set that are accompanied by DVD players...
I'd come prepared for both HDMI and RCA composite video just in case.
The USB input on these sets should permit only the viewing of JPG files on a thumb drive. There's no USB facility for digital video on these sets. If you have a USB gizmo that needs charging, however, it'd be a handy port for that since it's clearly acting as a "host" and should supply normal charging current to whatever you hook up to it. Then again, I'll just use the netbook for that as you will too, no doubt.
