I have looked high and low on Celebrity's website but do not see if they offer a wine package like RCCL does. I know I can buy a bottle of wine as a welcome gift but if they offer a wine package I would prefer to either buy that or put enough on board credit on my friend's account to buy it when they get on. Any one know if they offer the wine package and what the prices might be? I know I can send them with a bottle but then I also have to pay the $25 corkage fee and that's a lot of money when I remember on RCCL the packages weren't that terrible expensive. Thanks.
You can purchase a wine package on board. It has different levels and includes a number of choices. It works out to about a 25% discount from the cost if purchased separately. From what I understand Celebrity may be allowing prepurchase as RCCL does, but not at the present time.
Thanks Reggie - I just think $25 corkage fee is crazy but I guess I will have to buy a bottle from their website to be delivered to their room and then it will include the corkage fee.
I agree, $25 is ridiculous and they are very adamant about charging the fee. I had a large group last year and tried to get the fee waived and went all the way to the restaurant manager and they just wouldn't budge. We had purchased numerous bottles of wine and just wanted one special bottle that I had brought with me served at dinner.
Whatever became of the "wine packages" that were to have been instituted last year fleet wide? Something like 3 different "levels" and you picked X bottles from your level's selections during the course of the cruise? I'm still wondering what's typically in each of those packages, what they cost, and which ships actually DID finally put this into practice. Will be on Equinox in November, and hoping to see this then.
