On our recent Alaskan Cruise on the Mercury.. Celebrity was beginning a trial period of an extravagant brunch served in the main dinning room one morning.. does anyone know if they have now rolled that out fleet wide?

Depends on what you mean by "extravagant". They put up a massive brunch buffet in the main dining room one day on our westbound T/A on the Constellation last year.

Seems to me it may have been on the 1st at-sea day on the long stretch headed home from the Azores. Nobody needed to get up to head for port!

Hi Chris for our discussion extravagant and massive must be pretty much is the same thing..we too had our experience last year (august)

I think this is now fleet-wide and takes the place of the midnight buffet. I know we had it on our 7-day Solstice cruise in November, and as Chris said, we had it on the Connie TA last fall.

It was O.K. but not my favorite. There was a lot of "heavy" foods and I like to eat a bit lighter during the morning/noon hours.

I liked the idea on the whole. Given that they arranged it for a morning where a good sleep-in was not only likely but called for, the timing was good. Like most brunches, it was a combination of breakfast/dinner type food. The leisurely nature of the event was certainly pleasant. On port days, it's rare that we'll get breakfast in the main dining room, much as we like to eat there. Just not enough time before making port, and early excursions are a killer, so we usually wind up in the buffet upstairs for something quick and not at the mercy of how fast the kitchen is running.
