Personally we felt the concept was oustanding.. our problem came when some of the dishes they served became over cooked by sitting in the warmers..once they address the quality problems that we noticed.. we think they may have hit a home run
I've always found these special events in the dining room to be excellent. As long as the food is refreshed often, I think the quality should remain. If it's something that has been sitting in the pan for an hour or so you might choose something else.
I always keep an eagle eye on when dishes are refreshed and try to get to those offerings quickly. You don't then have to deal with picked over and possibly handling by passengers that may not keep your high standard of hygiene.

What you say is true reggie... but on the other hand i happen to believe .. that it is celebrity's responsibility to live up to it's on hypeas to the quality of every meal..
We had one on our sea day going across the Atlantic. It was OK but not spectacular.
Suzanne .... Did you have the children with you on that cruise? If so, did they enjoy it?

The lunch was scheduled on a day when a bunch of us from the CC group had decided to get together for lunch. When we arrived the service had been going on for a while and we had a large group. It was difficult to find a table for all of us, and one of the group had limited mobility and needed a wheel chair to get around.
I have to say the wait staff was wonderful. The only table that could fit us all was upstairs. The wait staff brought the mobility impaired man up in the elevator, helped him with is food and even took trips down stairs to get him and others more food. Someone even found Sticky Buns!!!
In all that confusion I can't recall seeing the food carving and hour'devours (spelling) trays that always made the midnight buffet so beautiful.
So maybe it was just the confusion that made is underwhelming, but I don't recall any of the food except shrimp cocktail. It probably is just me. I'll have to give it a fresh start on my next cruise on the Solstice.
Lulu, Yes the kids were there, and I think that is how we ended up with the sticky buns. They enjoyed the meal, but mostly because they got to sit with all our new CC friends. Go figure.

My grandchildren will be on Mercury for a Christmas/New Years cruise this year so I'm always especially interested in how the children liked things ... sticky buns and all!
Thanks again!
