    Forbidden Items - Questions

We have good friends traveling on the Infinity next week. I have searched the FAQ on the Celebrity site for them and cannot find a list of forbidden items. Does anyone know the link or can direct to where I might find the information.

The biggest question is whether or not electric rollers/hot rollers can be taken on board. I saw the part of no irons or steamers.

    Thanks for your help.

I have always taken my hot rollers and my curlilng iron onboard. I don't believe it is a forbidden item, like an iron.

Mary, those items are not a problem. Just think of the uproar if we ladies couldn't make ourselves look good? Every day would be a bad hair day!

    From the Celebrity web site:

To better help you prepare for your vacation, here are some guidelines on what to pack. Keep in mind that 'relaxed elegance' are the bywords for dress onboard each of Celebrity Cruises' ships. And though your own taste, interests and destinations will determine what you pack, you'll need three types of clothing: casual shipboard attire or day wear, comfortable apparel for sightseeing and evening wear.

    What to Pack
Whether on the ship or in a port of call, stylish resort wear is fine for both men and women. For warmer climates, this includes walking shorts and polo shirts, swim suits and cover-ups, lightweight slacks or skirts, and a light sweater. When visiting cooler climates, casual clothing that can be easily layered for warmth or comfort is recommended, along with a raincoat or umbrella, waterproof hat and gloves.

On all Celebrity cruises, it's wise to bring along comfortable, rubber-soled shoes, hat, sunglasses and a good sunscreen. Remember to pack any prescription medications or other personal care items you'll need.

    What not to Pack
Weapons, illegal drugs, and other items that could interfere with the safe operation of the ship or the safe and secure environment of our guests and crew are prohibited. The following are examples of items that are not allowed onboard. These and other similar items will be confiscated upon being found.

•Firearms & Ammunition, including realistic replicas
.•*Sharp Objects, including knives and scissors.
    •Illegal Drugs & Substances
    •Candles & Incense
•Coffee Makers, Clothes Irons, & Hot Plates
•Baseball Bats, Hockey Sticks, Cricket Bats, Bows & Arrows•Skateboards & Surfboards
    •Martial Arts Gear
•Self-Defense Gear, including handcuffs, pepper spray, night sticks.
•Flammable Liquids and Explosives, including lighter fluid and fireworks.
    •HAM Radios
•Dangerous Chemicals, including bleach and paint.
    •**Personal Alcohol
    Note:

*Personal grooming items such as safety razors are allowed.

**Two bottles wine per stateroom are allowed on embarkation day, subject to corkage fees.

Had never noticed the "scissors" exclusion, but it's been a very long time since we've last looked at the list. Since we take a long T/A each year now, I imagine that my wife will continue to violate this provision on each such cruise. With that many at-sea days, the sewing scissors come along each time. Various projects never completed at home are part of the cruising therapy on the way across the Atlantic. I won't even go into how easy it is to find a sharp object aboard ship and how silly this all sounds.

Chris, I'm with you on this. I always take scissors and I've always needed them for something on the cruise.

Thank you all so much. This is just what I was looking for.

Scissors .... yes, we always pack them too. But what we pack are the tiny kid's size scissors.

Our friend came for dinner tonight. She was beyond thrilled that she could take her heated rollers. I printed out a bunch of other things for her too about the cruise, so I think she is all set.

It's her 2nd cruise, but the first was a horrible experience on the NCL around Hawaii Islands. So glad her family and friends were able to convince to try cruising again. Know she is going to have a blast.

    Thanks again.

One final question ... are the safes in the cabins (she's CC class if that makes a difference) combination or magnetic strip type safes?

You punch in your own code on the key pad---she doesn't need to take an old credit card to use.

combination - oh how i hate those other safes. When I went on Carnival in June I totally forgot about that and I was traveling with a friend so we had to use my bank card because I forgot it was that kind of safe and that was the only card I had and we had to hide it in a pocket in our clothes in the closet so we could both use the safe if we weren't with the person. Stupid kind of safe
