    Tipping

This is my first time cruising with Celebrity cruise, what is the policy
with tipping, is it automatic or by choice.
I have booked a SV aft cabin . I heard that there is little or no shade.
and no privacy, I like sitting out side during the day looking out at the sea.
Is there any truth to it~!! Thank you

    Hey Earl

This is from the Celebrity web site:

How much do I pay in gratuities?
    Subject: Payments

For your convenience, we will automatically add gratuities for your restaurant and stateroom services to your onboard Seapass account on a daily basis in the following amounts, which may be adjusted at your discretion: $11.50 per person per day for guests in staterooms ($12.00 per person per day for guests in Concierge Class and AquaClass staterooms and $15.00 per person per day for guests in Suites). These service gratuities are based on the following recommended amounts:

    Restaurant Service*Per Person Per Day
    Waiter$3.65
    Assistant Waiter$2.10
    Dining Room Management$1.00
    Stateroom Service*Per Person Per Day
    Butler (Suites Only)$3.50
Stateroom Service $3.50 ($4.00 for Concierge Class and AquaClass staterooms)
    Alternative Service*Other Service Personnel$1.25

Beverage Service personnel are acknowledged with a 15% service charge which will be automatically added to the bill.

*Please note that gratuities may be shared with other crew members depending on the particular service requirement.
I'm assuming you are asking about the Equinox. There is always shade at certain times of the day depending on where the sun is. We love the aft cabins, but haven't sailed on your ship, so I don't have any personal knowledge about what kind of covering is over your balcony.

Earl from photos I have seen looking straight down, a portion of a standard sized balcony is covered on most of the SV aft cabins. So from above if you are standing at the rails you will be visible by others from above, but that would hold true with an M-Class cabin for example as well. I think if you are seated on your balcony your legs and feet might be visible from above, but that's it.

No one knows! It's not spelled out as to who they are.

Thanks, Char. That's the part I resent. I don't like to be "taxed" a gratuity for I don't know who!

Is it possible to give out the tips the old fashioned way?
