Phil, I agree with you wholeheartedly on dressing up for the Specialty restaurant. On the Connie, we went on formal night and loved the ambiance of being dressed up for a really nice dinner.

I for one am not a happy camper .. I have already lodged an informal complaint through the phone ..next is email and formal letters..
If you are so inclined here are the addresses!!
For email concerns about the dress code changes send them to:
web_cruise_comments @ rccl.com
(of course tighten up any spaces... like after the s in "comments" and after the @)

Then if you are inclined to send a formal letter those are snail mailed to :
Celebrity
Attn: Public Relations
P.O. Box 025511
Miami, FL 33102-5511

If you are unhappy please take the time to let them know...and if your ashare holder now would be a good time to mention that to them as well...

I am just curious what it is that you don't like about the new dress code. We have sailed on Azamara and must admit it was a pleasant surprise. Their ships are "smart casual" for all evening meals and everyone always looked nice. Some of the men wore sports coats and some didn't, but I saw no tee shirts.

It sure did make it easier to pack for the cruise!

On our one and only X cruise, I really liked the fact that there was a note in the dailies about formal attire throughout the ship in the evenings.

This was several years back. It really made the whole evening special.

Garry as far as we are concerned the dress code was the BIGGEST difference between Carnival brands and Royal Caribbean/Celebrity brands.... when RCCL allows jeans in the dining room for us it just ruins the entire ambiance that we have grown to love at celebrity..

I guess we could live with the Smart Causal thingy ... but JEANS?? nope.. never ..not us.. for us it ruins the experience...

Oh. I thought you didn't like them eliminating Informal nights. I didn't think about the jeans thing. And you're probably right about them. Once it starts, people will get more and more casual. It's a shame.
