HELP

Having booked our 1st ever cruise through a UK travel agent, and being given a Celebrity booking reservation number, registering this on "My Celebrity" a few weeks ago. I've occasionally gone onto the site to check all is ok (why shouldnt it be ?) - but HORROR ... today the site says the reservation number isnt recognised, then checking further on the site, the cruise on 17 August 2009 no longer exists.

HELP - anybody else booked on this date ??? What could have happened ????

My goodness! I would be questioning the travel agent. They are the ones who would be able to tell you what is going on. I looked at the Celebrity web site and it surely doesn't show any August sailings past the one on the 7th!

Could also be a charter, your TA will find out for you!!

Call your agent as I'm showing the August 7th sailing is still available for booking, however the cruise on August 28th is closed - could be a whole ship charter.

Pete, look again!

It's the August 17th cruise that the OP is questioning. The Celebrity web site doesn't show another cruise in August after the one on the 7th.

You're right, there is nothing for August 17th on their booking site and the one on August 28th is closed.

This is good news. But it does beg the question of why the cruiseline didn't communicate this to their TAs and passengers. I imagine the additional day shouldn't affect them as it's too early to book flights and hotels (right????). But what if somebody can't take the additional day off from work (I can see that happening) or had something to do (special occasion?) on that additional day?

This is actually normal for RCCL an "X". If there is a change of price or itinerary being contemplated or implemented, the sailing will go to code red and no bookings will be accepted. Availability will not show either.
