I don't think that the blown glass demonstration is that much more complex than the chef's spun sugar demo. The only difference is a matter of degree.A bare concrete floor would be more than adequate to control hot glass. Heck, the welding that they had to do on the Connie during our trip to replace the glass that was blown out in the internet cafe was probably more dangerous!

I was thinking about this, and I'll bet they could sell a lot of blown Christmas Ornaments on those cruises!

I agree. I bet this will be a money-making venue for them. I know if I was watching a demonstration, I'd probably like to have a souvenir and an ornament would be the perfect reminder of my cruise.

They should be able to make ornaments because I watched them make a bowl with little hand blown balls for its feet!

I don't want to watch, I want to DO (haven't played with glass in over 30 years. Wonder if I still have the knack?)

I'm sure they will. Here is a picture of Christmas Tree Ornaments made at the Mdina Glass Factory in Malta.

I am anxious to hear back from the first of our members who goes on this cruise and gets to see... and also to hear if there was any blown glass for sale, and what kinds of items were available, if any.
