One of the thing that I like about Celebrity is the many cruise traditions that they maintain but in a ship so much nicer than the ships I saild 20-30 years ago.
I love traditional dining. I have always enjoyed building a rapport with my waiter over the week or so during the cruise. I actullay like having the set time and place to dine every night.
I like the dressy dining atmospher. I hardly ever get to dress up at home so I relish these nights on the cruise.
I like it when the orchestra plays for dancing!! I just like that jazzy kind of dance music.
I even like the parade of Baked Alaska on the last formal night. Hey its fun!!!
I know there are more "traditional" things on Celebrity. Maybe you could share your favorites!!!
I don't have any special tidbits to add to your comments. It is just nice to know that there are people out there who share the values we espouse. As in "Fiddler On The Roof" it is the traditions that keep us a civilized society. As we erode those traditions and accept lower and lower standards, we lower our own performance and sink more to the decadent lifestyle of the ancient Romans, and we know how that turned out.
I really enjoy the waiters as we board the ship offering you a glass of champagne. I also appreciated when I was offered a complimentary cup of hot tea with brandy as I returned from a port in Alaska.
I love the chilled towels handed to you when returning to the ship on a hot day. Also, the nice warm blankets around the pool area are wonderful on a cold sea day.
I must admit I have gotten a little teary when the waiters sing Auld Lang Syne after the baked alaska parade. Maybe because the cruise is coming to an end??

I had a large group on Mercury to Alaska sailing from SF May of '03. The last night was really special and as we were getting up from the table after dinner, we were all hugging the waiters and assistants. That was a very touching moment. One of the assistant waiters was on Infinity last December and I heard his unmistakable laugh in the atrium as I boarded the ship. I didn't see him, but yelled out "Tri, is that you?" He ran over with the widest grin, remembering me instantly from a cruise over 2 and 1/2 years earlier, even remembering my name as I remembered his.
