Thread: Celebrity Century mains voltage

Will my wife's hot air brush work OK on the Celebrity ship-it is a standard 240v model?

It should. The Century has both 120 and 240 plugs at both the desk and in the bathroom. Unfortunately I do not have a picture of the exact prong configuration.

Is the Century powered by diesel fuel and not heavy fuel oil ? I think I saw it going to Antarctica and heavy fuel oil is banned there.

I was wrong it's the Celebrity Infinity in 2013.

If I remember correctly from the bridge tour of the Milli, the ship has three alternate fuel sources. The Infinity is the sister ship so she should be identical.

I did some more checking. The Infinity does use the same gas turbine engines and steam turbine as the Millennium does. These in turn drive the electric generator that actually powers the azipods. In fact, the Millie is so environmentally clean that it

A steam turbine recovers heat from the exhaust, providing energy for heating water and for other electrical needs. According to Celebrity, the gas turbines that burn clean distillate fuel significantly reduce exhaust emissions.

Celebrity received an award for being environmentally green and there is a ISO 14001 plaque on the Millennium showing off the award.
