    The "New" Century

Does anyone know where I can find information on what Century will be like after the rehab? I'm taking my daughter & son in law on her in November & wanted to show them what she'll be like.

    Arrow Century Deck Plans

Hey Terri, The Celebrity website shows the deck plans of the Century for before and after refurb. For example, on the Sports deck when we were on her last Oct. we were in Cabin 1220 - and just down the hall from us was the Sky Bar. Now on the website if you look at the "Deck Plans Valid From : May 30, 2006 - when you view the Sports Deck - they show that there will be brand new cabins where the Sky Bar use to be.

Not sure if there are ANY sites that will have actual pictures of her while she is in dry dock, but maybe someone else knows.

Hi Rachelsmemom, Had you been on the on the Century BEFORE the refurb? Well the SV cabins are on the Sports Deck where the Sky Bar use to be. We were once in Sky Suite 1220 and enjoyed stepping down the hall to the Sky Bar for a quick lunch. Very handy, but now gone!! But I bet it surely makes a great spot for a Sunset Verandah!!

Charbie - Thanks for the reply!

I'm hearing conflicting information. Some say that the SV cabins offer no privacy and are open to public areas. If that's the case I prefer not to book one and have people watch me eat my breakfast (my fav activity on board.) Others are saying that the verandahs are quite private. I'm looking at cabin 1242 and from the on-line diagrams, I really can't tell.

Hopefully someone who has been on board recently will have further insight.

We've got 1242 booked for a 2007 cruise, and believe me, the deck plan isn't even close to the actual configuration. The veranda is NOT that concave bit that you see -- that's the cabin! The veranda sticks off to starboard with the wall between it and the Sky Suite just forward one cabin. UK Phil was good enough to send a dandy post-refit photo that makes it all clear.

From that cabin, I see no chance of any privacy at all. The veranda, since it is mostly starboard, not aft of the cabin, hangs right out over the public space below and does not get the benefit of the canvas overhang that at least blocks some of the view from below to the verandas of the other SV cabins. Either Phil or I posted the pic over in the general Celebrity board, as I recall.

So right now, I'm not happy with the very large difference between what's shown as we booked, and the reality. Celebrity refuses to acknowledge that there is a difference. I've asked them to verify with on-board staff. If I arrive with a piece of paper that assures me there are no differences, and it's obvious when I get there that Miami was very wrong, we're going to have to discuss a pier-side change.

I'll try to find the link and get it posted over here as well.

Here's the photo of 1242. You can see how different this is from what you'd expect from the deck plan:

    CAnderson,

I've been away (land trip) and just saw your reply. When in 2007 is your cruise? Mine is late August and I booked 1242. If it's that bad, I'll try to switch. Thanks for the pic!!

Bad would be in the eye of the beholder, and we haven't had any CLF eyes on it yet. That said, it certainly doesn't appear to match the deck plan, with the veranda somewhat more exposed than the deck plan would suggest based upon the canopies below. It does appear that the cabin will be larger than the 175 they're quoting, though.

We're not up until April '07. If you decide to go with it, I'll be interested in your opinion.

Sorry, I should have specified the year as 2007 so you'll be on board before me. Hopefully, we'll have better info by that time. I'll let you know if I find anything interesting.
