"Not so fond of this private island"

It really can't be called a private island unless you are sailing MSC. It is a paid excursion for all others. It is not the worst island I have been to but it beats the alternative of going into Samana and getting "hit in the face" with extreme poverty.

While not a true cruise line private island it does have a nice beach area. You can lounge either in the sun or shade. When we were there (dec 2006) MSC tried to charge for using it but no one was signing up so it was free to go but to eat did cost, because MSC does not do the food but rather it is supplied by the resort that is on and owns the island.
