I'd love to hear what everyone has to say about the Cayman Islands as a stop. We were supposed to stop there a few years back on the Dawn but they couldn't because of rough seas.We are still very interested in seeing the islands. So besides the fact that it's very expensive, how is it?? Thanks everyone!
This is one of our favorite stops on the Western Caribbean route........very beautiful, clean and virtually no crime.............now I haven't been there since last year's hurricane hit them direct..........I'm sure rebuilding is a slow process.
Grand Cayman is beautiful. We missed it last year. It wasn't open due to hurricane damage. Hope to stop in October. First street, parallel to the ocean, is first rate shopping. When you take a left, to go up to the high buildings, banks and whatever, there is jewelry store on the left after you turn. Check out that place. The jewelry is magnificent. Can't afford it, but always stop to look!! Scuba and snorkling is the best. The views are to die for. We go to the convenience store for the local paper, and a coke, and sit in a small park, on the main street, with benches and flowers and palms, and just people watch. After getting Dickie totally relaxed I shop!!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

We were there in February and it was gorgeous...still evidence of damage (which was ok, because it made us appreciate what those on the island went through)...We went snorkeling and swimming with the stingrays and it was a totally awesome experience!! I think about it all the time and can't wait to go do it again!!
Now I want to book a cruise right now that stops there!! We're thinking the fall, towards the end of hurricane season. Though that's when they all hit last year. I guess that's the drawback for living in near paradise!

The only down side to the end of October , is that some island may be damaged by hurricanes. But it doesn't matter to us. We are still sailing somewhere.

I agree with you! Can't let a little wind damage ruin a good time right! Think positive thoughts though for this hurricane season. Last season was enough for everyone!
