Snorkel at Eden Rock

For any of you going to the Grand Cayman but not wanting to go on an organized tour or swim with stingrays then spend a day snorkeling at Eden Rock and hanging out on there piece of beach and sipping drinks and eating Caribbean food at Paradise restaurant....

We had great drinks...no food but my husband snorkeled for two hours while I relaxed on the beach... it is pretty to have all the ships in the backgrounds. Then after a few hours we headed back to the ship and stopped at some shops and Senor Frog's...a good day and we spent about $60 total!

This place is about a 15 minute easy walk from the port!

Thanks Mandy!

When someone has been there several times it's good to get ideas for some other things to do besides the regular stuff...going to the turtle farm and going to Hell and etc........

Thanks!
I haven't had the pleasure of snorkelling Eden Rock yet. I will havea to try that next time.. Thank you for posting about it!

But, last October, two other CLFers and I snorkeled Hamburger Reef on our own. It was fabulous, and the day cost us exactly NOTHING.
Except I did rent some fins for a very reasonable amount, since I hadn't wanted to pack mine.

We were probablly in the water for a couple of hours, and had an absolute ball!

There was no beach where we went in... just a little inlet surroundd by rocks, so entering anad exiting was a little tricky with the water rushing rapicly up through the little funnel created by the narrow channel between the rocks, but the three of us were fine.

I wouldn't suggest this area for anyone who is not a fairly self suffidient swimmer... the entry and exit knocked us off our feet a couple of times... there are no lifeguards there ... or anyone else , for that matter, but it WAS a great snorkel! One ofo the best I have done in a long while!

(Note -two of us are trained lifeguards, and one also an ex competitive swimmer, so we were equipped to take care of one another if the need arosse.)
