If someone has used the buses, I would like to "know" for sure, if at all possible. Also, I thought someone had said the fare is $2.50, each way. Would a taxi charge more, or do you know?

A taxi would charge at least double, depending on where you went. To most beaches, it would be about double.

Where a bus drops you off will usually be about where it would pick you up.

    Bus stops look like this:

You pay when leaving the van, so look around. If you don't see one or just don't know, ask. Everybody already knows you are a tourist.

Worst case, there will probably be lots of taxis available to take you back.

Thank you everyone for the info. It has really helped out. If you can think of anything to add to let me know before March 28th, I would appreciate it.

    Grand Caymon

It just dawned on me, and perhaps I "forgot" what was said.

If you have cruised to Grand Cayman, does the ship dock there, or do we take a tender there?

Thank you. I know when we tender, we have to take in consideration the "time", that it takes to get to/from the island.

How much time does it usually take to tender? We have an excursion booked with Captain Marvin's in the morning. The ship is supposed to be in port at 8:00. We are supposed to meet at their office at Waterfront Centre at 9:15. I'm hoping that gives us plenty of time? I know that they let people off first that have morning excursions, but I'm sure that is only the ones who have booked through the ship??

Yep---the tours booked through the ship get to go ashore first.

Question for you...since you are in a suite, does Carnival give priority tender tickets as one of your perks? Some other cruise lines do this. If so, you can be one of the first off.

Good question- I have no idea!! I haven't seen anything saying that we do. But there are a few other couples with us on the same excursion that are not booked on a suite, so we'd have to wait on them anyways.

Yes, considering how long it takes to "get off" the ship, (I have seen the wind blow so bad that we were delayed an hour or longer)and on the tender, we would have to take that in consideration too.

I'm sure you are like me, you don't want them leaving us behind. I have seen where some tour guides will wait a while, others, well when they say they are ready to leave at a certain time, they mean it.

This is sort of off the subject, and I don't know if anyone can help me at this time.

It is just a tad over two weeks and we will be cruising to Cozumel also.

A man by the name of Mike Thompson who has a taxi/touring agency was recommended. I was given his website of cozumeltaxi@hotmail.com, and it does not work.

If you have ever heard of this man or used his service, would you please let me know how I can contact him?
