Zydecocruise, you gave me 3 sites to click on, but when I did, they were all blank.

It's about a 2 mile walk to the beginning of 7 Mile Beach and a few more miles to Calico Jack's. It is a beach bar restaurant on Sea Grape Beach. $2.50 was the minimum bus fare last time I was there.

Now if I get a van/bus and it goes to the 7-mile beach, how can a person know which beach they are at? Are there signs in front saying, Royal Palms, or Seagrape Beach?

Best to know where you want to go before you get in the van and then tell the driver where you want to exit.

A taxi to a lot of 7MB isn't that expensive. It might be $5-$6pp to Sea Grape vs $2.50pp on the bus.

Oh thank you for the pictures of Calico Jack's. That gives me an idea of what to look for.

To me, it sounds like we would be just as good off, "knowing" what beach we want to go to, as it looks like it would be cheaper than doing a taxi. My question, if we get a bus/van to take us to the beach of our choice, will there be vans/bus in that area to pick us up, or do we tell them what time we want to be picked up?

It looks like the bus/vans run on a regular schedule.

There is no set schedule to the buses. They run sort of every 15 minutes or so. They are public transportation, so are shared by all and not on a reservation basis.

Ask the driver when you get out where the closest stop for the return trip is. If not at a stop, if you flag a bus down, and they have room, they will stop, assuming you know what you are looking for.

    Grand Caymon buses/vans

OK, so if I get the bus, and its headed for the beach (I know I would "ask" first, before I would board the bus, if the bus was going to the beach that I wanted to go to. My question, would it be better to ask, or just "know" that where the bus drops us off, it would probably be the same place to be picked up?

If someone has used the buses, I would like to "know" for sure, if at all possible. Also, I thought someone had said the fare is $2.50, each way. Would a taxi charge more, or do you know?

Scroll up a couple of posts and you will see the picture that has the $2.50 fare posted.

    Grand Cayman - "more" questions

I just read about Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Can anyone tell me if these are sights to see or what they are?

These are different islands....not on Grand Cayman.

Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman are all part of the Cayman Islands.

The other two are smaller and less populated. On a cruise, you really don't have time to explore - better on a land vacation.

In addition, Hurricane Paloma caused major damage on Cayman Brac last November.
