They have plenty of chairs under the trees (free) and a bar/restaurant on site. They also had floats and things to rent for the day.
Looks like there's no excursion to Rum Point? Or at least not on our cruise. How long does it take to get there and was it difficult to find? We may want to try that as well. Thanks for your comments.

No excursion that I know of, although we did see a tour boat dock there for about an hour. It may have been part of a tour. I went online and rented a car ahead of time (I think from Andy's) We called when we got off the tender and they picked us up, and took us to the airport for the paperwork. From there it was about 1/2 hour drive max. We did not go around the entire island; cut across midway and it saves time. You can find a map online or they will give you one at the rental place. There is a grocery store by the airport and we stopped and got a styrofoam cooler, drinks and snacks before leaving. It was worth the drive for the quiet beach! Water is clear and relatively shallow for quite a ways out. We saw stingrays there too. I will be glad to answer any other questions you have, and send a link to our pictures.

We did Princess tour on Cayman (sandbar snorkel) and it was absolutely fabulous.. don't do ship tours that often.. it was run by Don Foster Dive and I highly recommend.. the crew was terrific, spent lots of time with us and the rays, pontoon type boat was very smooth ride out and they seemed to interact with us and the rays much much more than those on other boats out there did.. Take the first tour and you'll get off on early tender and have more time ashore.. well worth the extra $10 or so

Our cruise stopped there last January. It was pretty devastated after Ivan. Lots of roof damage and a huge amount of tree damage. Since they bring in all the repair goods via freighter (according to locals there) repairs and upkeep are slow. There is also a shortage of contractors there. So....you may still see quite a bit of recovery effort. We went to Stingray City, and loved it. Great excursion!

We went last November. The stingrays were the absolute highlight of our cruise.
Honestly felt like a little kid with a new experience. I would go back anytime.

We LOVED swimming with the stingrays! We used Captain Bryan's Buccaneer and had a fabulous tour. We even bought the DVD that they taped that day!
