Snorkeling close to cruise ship terminals
For those of you coming in on cruise ships and wondering if you need to book a snorkeling trip, there is pretty decent snorkeling from shore just 10 minute or so walk from the cruise ship terminal in Georgetown. When you exit the terminal and get to the side walk turn right and follow the side walk along the water untill you come to Eden Rock. There is a dive/snorkel shop there and an eating place. There are steps right there down into the water. And it's free... you don't have to spend an hour getting to a spot to snorkel and you have the rest of the time free to shop or go on a quick tour. I brought along some snorkel fish food from Paradise Island Distributors and it made all the difference in the world. As soon as you open the package there is a swarm right in front of you. I would advise using snorkeling food and don't feed them junk like bread or cherrios or the like. You are not doing the fish any good. I talked to the one who developed the food and it is nutritious for the fish. A picture below is what you are likely to get at Eden Rock eating the food. If you are coming in on a cruise ship your time is limited and you need to make the best of it. I went snorkeling there and had time to do other things afterward.
