Non Ray Cayman Tours

When you think of Grand Cayman, you naturally think of Sting Ray City. Many visitors there seem to 'do the rays.'

BUT
If I were cruising to Grand Cayman, and did NOT want to do the Sting Ray excursion, what is the next best excursion of any kind when going there?

If you've done an activity you'd highly recommend, could you please describe it and tell us what makes you so feel so positive about it?

Conversely -
If you had a disappointing experience with an activity that you'd NOT recommend to others, what was it, and why was it disappointing?

We took a girl trip to 7-mile beach about 7-8 years ago & stayed on the beach. The beaches are wonderful! We took a submarine voyage that was very good. Ours took off from Georgetown on a morning excursion. But, they also had one at night that I think would have been equally as fascinating. Shopping in Georgetown offers everything you can imagine. The food that we ate was great - especially the seafood. Our favorite local place was Eats Cafe - it's small & extremely casual - that's why we fell in love with it. We did go out to the turtle farm. It was okay, but I wouldn't go there again. What we didn't go to & wished we had was Hell's Gate & the Tortuga Rum Factory. I would definitely go to those if I had the time. I don't remember where they were located, but I do know the Rum factory is no where close to the Turtles! We loved Grand Cayman, & would go back in a heart beat if someone would pay for our trip. Wow, it's an expensive place to visit!
