We have done Stingray City twice, both times with Captain Marvins . They have much smaller groups on their boats, about 20 -30 people, than the very large crowded ones that are through the ship. They are easy to deal with and their office is a very short walk from where you dock with your tender.

We have been to Stingray City twice, the first time with the ship's excursion and the second time on Captain Bryan's Buccaneer. http://caymanislandsdiscounts.com/St..._Excursion.htm

We loved this excursion! Here is a link to some of our pictures from that day: http://community.webshots.com/album/530801710NJTzFf

Have a great time, no matter which excursion you take!

FYI: Tropical Depression #1 dumped 22+" of rain on Grand Cayman over the last 24 hours.

No sting ray swims going on today, I imagine...

    thanks !

I will look for your reply. I haven't booked it yet, but I may do it today. Being on FOS with 4000 people, I have a feeling some of these more popular excusions will fill up fast.

Being our first major cruise, I think I am going to stick with the boat sponsored excursions, especially since most of our stops are only 8 hours. I dont want to take a chance missing the boat. ONce I get a feel for some of these places, I may venture out on private tours our next cruise .

    Thanks,
    Sue

Sue, I highly recommend that you book as fast as you can for the earliest that you can. I can't fathom 4000 people in that small spot.
    Good luck.

We booked with Nativeways and we loved it. Had the best time, our guide took us to Stingray City, then to another snorkeling spot, they had a nurse shark and a moray ell. Then we went to Rum Point and it was just awesome.

I hope to do the same tour again this November.
