    can not wait!

    Hi,
I am booking this cruise this week! It will be the first vacation without the kids in 6 years! I am trying to decide if we should fly in the night before or early that morning?

Hi & Welcome, glad to see another person here.... How old are your kids? good for you two going alone, all parents need downtime.

Where are you flying in from? We're from Long Island NY so have direct flight, landing @ 12:30ish (org. it was 10:30, but the flt times were changed), so s/b on board by 2. So depends on your flt what you should do or if want some time before cruise to see SJ. We're staying after the cruise, only have couple of direct flts going home. Last time it was too stressful, worrying about getting off the ship, our luggage, to the airport, going thru all the security etc, not a good way to end a cruise. So, worth it to spend xtra time on PR, plus get an extra day on the beach.

We're staying outside of SJ in Ocean Park, only few min. ride to SJ.
    Talk soon.

This ship departs San Juan at 10 Pm, so if you have a direct flight arriving early SJU early in the morning or early afternoon, you'll be fine. If there are winter weather delays or mechanical problems with the aircraft, that's a whole other story.
I fly from South Florida, so flying on the first flight out on a morning is ideal for us as we don't have winter weather delays here.
If you have cruised on a Carnival Conquest Class ship, i.e, Carnival Conquest, Glory, Valor, Liberty or Freedom, the Carnival Victory is just a shorter version of those ships. Victory entered service new in 2000. Together with the Carnival Triumph(1999), it is a modified version of the Carnival Destiny in that it carries more passengers than the Destiny. Deck 7, Promenade Deck is the only deck that will take you from front to back of the ship. The forward dining room breakup the flow.
Take a strip extension cord with you if you have multiple items that will need recharging such as camera and cell phone batteries, and so forth. If motion sickness is a problem, take Bonine or any other sea sickness OTC meds. with you.

Thanks for the info. Shouldn't have any winter weather worries up here in April. Our org. flt was the 1st one out of NY and still is but just later now. Will still have time to walk around SJ and get some relaxing by the pool before the crowds hit.
Do you know of any area on this ship that is a quiet place to relax in the sun? We don't need to be near the pool, can always walk to it.
Thanks for the info about the decks. We're on deck 7-mid-ship, does that mean there will be more traffic than usual?
Always bring a multi power strip and non-drowsy dramamine. esp if taking catamaran tours!
