here's my review from triumph 2/11/06 eastern

    hey guys,
just got back. had a blast. this was my 5th carnival cruise and best so far.
I tried to do this in the review mode but it spit it back cause i didn't fill something out??????????

    anyway here goes:

Embarkation went smooth, small line in fun pass, then short line to get sail card, then up to ship.

Formal nights were sunday and thursday, the rest were casual. very few people wore tux's.

Sea days were fun, plenty of activities, pool games, drinking and food all day long in south beach/pool bar areas. Lunch was sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, etc. had some speciality days as well.
The breakfast buffet and lunch buffets were busy but never very long lines. food was pretty good and plenty of staff to help.

    ports: san juan
went to hard rock, street cafe, and senor frogs. big party there!!

st. thomas- we went to st john via cab and ferry and cab to trunk bay.
great beach with snorkling and swimming. it is just hard to get to.
no beach chairs at trunk but a gift shop and snack bar w/ drinks and food and a bar.

St. martin - went to Orinet beach. cabs ride is $8 a person set rate.
we hung out at La Salsa Bar next to Pedro's. Great food and drinks at booth.
cabs will pick you up if you request or there were plenty to take people back to ship. 4 ships in port but it wasn't that crowded on pier.
last call at Sharky's is a must, the best guavaberry colada's on the island.

ships Condition - good to fair. our cabin was deck 8 aft inside. clean hallways, great cabin attendants. dining rooms were very nice and we had great waiters for our group. London dining floor 4.
the ship is getting worn out in some areas. restrooms were not as clean as they could have been.

we had a great time. the ships staff is great. the CD just came on so he was getting his feet wet again. all the bar staff was wonderful. several bars on ship were great. wine bar with Elena, Piano Bar was fun. The big Easy had a great Band - Pure!!! karokee at night in club Rio was fun.
the casino bar had entertainment - Shelia (i think) she sang and played electric guitar thing. casino was always busy and great staff.
wonderful shops and photo galery on ship.

    Disembarkation -
we waited for our color to be called which was one of the last, no worries cause no hurry to get to flights. it was a long but steady line exiting ship.
plenty of porters to help. we used a shuttle service to go back to FLL.
i would highly recommend floridalimo.com from FLL to Miami Pier. town car
was $64 and no reservation needed. just tell them outside baggage claim and they get you a car.

feel free to ask any questions and i will try to answer them

Go to Cruise Reviews (upper left top of this site) and pick Carnival Triumph. I got back 2 weeks ago and wrote a review. I loved it.
