I heard on the Radio today on the way home that the Carnival Triumph is to begin making 7 days cruises out of New Orleand in 2007. I did not catch the dates or iteneraries.

"Triumph's seven-day cruises will begin Sept. 2, 2007 to the western Caribbean. There will be a one-time, five-day cruise offered on Aug. 28, 2007. The ship will offer two different itineraries visiting Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios; and Belize, Cozumel and Pregreso."

As I understand it, the Triumph will be sailing year round from New Orleans, and will be replaced in Miami by the Carnival Freedom in 2007. So Miami gets the Freedom for Saturday sailings, and the Valor for Sunday sailings, two huge Conquest Class Vessels, plus the two Fantasy Class ships, and the seasonal Destiny Class, Carnival Victory.Originally Posted by Cruise Cat

I can't wait for the Freedom itinerary!![]()
I got this from another board:
After Med debut, Miami base for Carnival Freedom
Carnival Freedom will sail year-round seven-day cruises from Miami beginning in November 2007. The 110,000gt ship, under construction at Fincantieri’s Marghera yard, will offer alternating Western and Eastern Caribbean voyages.
Prior to the Miami program, Carnival Freedom will operate a previously announced inaugural summer schedule of Mediterranean/Greek Isles voyages March 14 to Oct. 16, followed by a 14-day crossing from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Miami.
In Miami, the 2,974-passenger ship will replace the 2,758-passenger Carnival Triumph, which is redeploying to New Orleans next autumn.
After a special four-day cruise from Miami to Key West and Cozumel on Nov. 12, 2007, Carnival Freedom will start regular weekly service. Sailing on Saturdays, the ship will alternate an Eastern route (San Juan, St. Thomas/St. John and St. Maarten) with a Western route (Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios). Reservations open Sept. 6 with fares starting at $499.
Including Carnival Freedom and four other ships, Carnival Cruise Lines will operate 12,810 lower berths from the Port of Miami.

Don't worry Chuck, when the Freedom comes to Miami in November, 2007, she's staying put in Miami as a year round homeport, with Saturday sailings.Originally Posted by VIP Travel
