    Sept. 19, 2009 -- New England/Canada.

This will be our third run to Canada but the first on this particular ship. The decor certainly looks a tad more restful than the frenetically fabulous C. Miracle, our last home away from home.

Our first Canadian cruise was on the C. Victory, a sister ship. It was just after 9/11. New York had been closed as a cruise port. We motored to Harriman and took a chartered bus to Boston to board ship.

The most poignant moment in the entire cruise came as we dropped lines and slowly edged away from the dock at Halifax, bound back to Boston town. A single bagpiper in full regalia stood, all alone, playing on the dock. The bond between the US and Canada was never more evident to us than in those few moments. There was not a single dry eye at the ship's rails. [I'm not 100% sure of that. I couldn't see very well through my tears.]

The happiest moment was when we arrived at the parking lot in Harriman, loaded our baggage into our car [which had been patiently waiting for us for a full week], got in, placed the key in the ignition, turned the key -- and the car started!

    'Nuff of the past!

My Lady [who wears several hats including 'My Friend' and 'My Wife'] and I will be on board. We're booked port side on the ever-lovin' Lido deck [our fave hangout.] I'll score a table there for you. I'm the old geezer with the white hair cradling a coffee cup in my hands. There'll be a card on the table with a large 'CLF' on it.

The Triumph was my first "Destiny" class ship, as well as the vessel that first took me north. It was also my first experience in a balcony stateroom.

I was also able to tour the ship when she first sailed into NY harbor, direct from Itlay. It was strange being on her without a room to go to. But we got a nice tour, and had a nice lunch, that being my first reuben from thier band new deli. YUM!!!! A bonus (or not) was that Kathy Lee and Frank were on board.

I happen to like this ship the best of the three, but I am not a fan of this class ship.

OOPSY! These pictures are too big to see! Could you please re-do them to fit the regular page?

    Thanks!
