We've done this run about three times now. A bit different from a Caribbean cruise, but a nice getaway.
VETERAN OF 25+ CRUISES SINCE THE 80's
I'm counting on this being different than the Caribbean, not the Caribbean isn't nice. My guess is that it's simular to the Alaskan cruise, in some ways. Same kind of people at least.
My flights are now listed by Carnival.
I'll fly into LGA one week and out of Newark the next.
At least I should a great deal of scenery.

Hope you have a great cruise! I guess it's too early for the leaves to be changing.

Cruising up the eastern coast to Canada in September is one of the better ways to enjoy a week. The weather was a delight each time we've gone.
It's been our experience that the people of Canada's Atlantic coast look upon us Americans as parents look fondly upon young and somewhat rambunctious offspring. We are looking forward to visiting them again.
We've found the various on-shore tours/activities to be well worth the cost. The cleanliness of Saint John and Halifax are impressive for Big Apple denizens like ourselves.
On board, the normal group of passengers tend to be earlier risers than the folks on the Caribbean runs. There's usually a [small] line for breakfast as the cafeteria opens. With the children back in school, there are fewer on board.

Canada's east coast is beautiful in all seasons.
