Carnival Splendor Inaugural Cruise July 13-25, 2008

I was thinking about a pre- at first, and then thinking about a post-. May end up doing neither. I want to burn up some frequent flier miles for air, so that will have some impact. Also haven't quite figured out the transfers to/from London. With over a year to go, still lots of time.

I lived in London a few centuries ago, although many of my brain cells from that era are faded.

I think it will be a great cruise!

There is always the Ritz, but back in those days it was more hostels and such for me when not in residence hall.

I plan on Best Western Churchill in Dover the night before the cruise.

Why doen't he also include comments about the quality of the cruise experience--food, service, facilites, etc.

Welcome aboard cruzman. Sue was correct, check out his live from thread. He does a lovely job every time he goes on a cruise and the pictures will mesmerize you

We're booked on the USA inaugural, which is a 2-day cruise on Nov. 15, 2008.

I just read a review of the ship on CruiseCritic.com, and got a good description of the ship, plus some problem areas. The part that caught my attention at the start was the mention of a "hairly LEGS contest'. Later, in the article, they mentioned "hairy CHEST contest", which is one of the usual amusements of the week on Carnival!
