'Round the Horn in Jan of '09 Carnival Splendor

I'm surprised there isn't a roll call yet, so I'll go ahead and start one. Just wondering if anyone else is booked for any of these 3 great cruises. I'm booked on the first 2, but currently booked as a single (my roomie canceled) in a balcony, midship, Upper Deck, starbord side cabin. I can't possibly afford both of these cruises as a single, so, I'm thinking I may have to cancel the first one. I'm seriously looking for a cabinmate for the second leg of this set, the one that actually goes 'round the horn.

I'm hoping to meet some of the other people that are on this cruise here, so IF I find a cabinmate, we'll have a head start on knowing each other. IF you know of someone that would be interested in sharing a cabin, send them my way; PM or join the roll call, and we'll talk. I'm here at least once a day, usually.

    Ok, it's official

I've done the deed. I called and put a nix on the first leg of this set of cruises. I still have the 'Round the Horn part booked and am eager to be able to do this part. I'm still looking for a cabinmate for this part of the cruise and hopeful that the timing is right. If not, life goes on.

    Fingers, toes and eyes crossed.

Well, things are looking good for being able to go on the 2/17/09 'Round the horn part of this repo cruise. I have met a guy that has gone and renewed his passport and is interested in going with me on this cruise. I had about given up. It was quite a surprise when he mentioned he wanted to go, so now crossing all body parts hoping it works out. I guess time will tell.

    Congrats.

I finally decided a couple of weeks ago and bought airfare. Ouchee Mama.

The cost of my cabin has decreased, so that helped offset.

    Back to square one

Well, I opened my big mouth a little too soon. It was looking good for a while, but yesterday his, "money lady" told him he couldn't take any more out this year. So, either he waits and books after the first of the year, or I go solo or cancel. So, I'll have to think about it while in Rome and on the Freedom TA. Take lots of pics, Bill. I love to see your pics. If I don't get to go, that's the next best thing.

I suspect cabins will still be available. And who knows, prices might be even lower trying to fill the ship up.

I thought about that option, too. We'll see. Right now, the TA I booked through has a group rate and it includes a $200 OBC and the cabin itself is still cheaper than what Carnival has on the website. But who knows what the new year will bring.

But for now, I'm NOT upset or stressing about it. I'll give it some thought while I'm on this cruise. It's about 3am. We're leaving today and I should be sleeping. I've worked and packed and not slept much the last 48 and should be sleeping like the babies I help deliver. LOL I can't imagine why I'm not sleeping. Any ideas? LOL

So, whether I go in Feb or not, I'm still going to enjoy your pics. Thanks for the ideas and encouragement. Maybe I'll bump into you on some cruise, someday.

This one is getting very close now. I actually canceled it in Nov. and rebooked it recently and YES, the price was much cheaper. I couldn't believe how much cheaper from when I was pricing 1a's before. Danny is booked with me and we're in an inside cabin, instead of the balcony. We also got a really great deal on the air since we had vouchers from NWA left from the return flight on the TA cruise. Since we finally decided to do it for sure, we have been busy booking excursions, checking into transfers from EZE to the port, buying a new lense for my cam, and booking a room for post-cruise at a park and stay hotel in IND. The hotel is cheaper than long term parking for 16-17 days. LOL So, now that the important things are taken care of, we can turn our attention to the fun things, like.................. t-shirts. LOL Bill, do I remember right, that Goose is the CD for this cruise?

I think Goose is still the CD.

Glad you will be able to make it!

I'm on the Blogger's cruise just prior, so may be wore out before this one begins!

I hope you have a Live From thread as my family is considering a SA cruise (probably within the next five years or so) as hubby wants to see the Iguazu Falls on a cruisetour. Knowing the great photos you post, Bill, I can show them to the hubby and the girl.

I imagine there's plenty of West Coasters who can't wait to get a bigger Carnival ship over here.
