    Disability

To whom may have some info...
My wife and I are trying to plan a Cruise to Alaska on the Spirit. I am disabled and use a 3-wheeled scooter for mobility. Having never been on a cruise I am hoping to find out some info.
1st... am I allowed to take my own scooter aboard the ship? and if so does the ship provide 110 volt outlets to charge?
2nd...any tips on the best HC balcony suites for view, access etc.
3rd...any other tips would be greatly appreciated
    Thank you so much...

Hi welcome aboard. I hope you enjoy your Alaskan cruise onboard the Carnival Spirit.

    1. Yes, you are allowed to bring your scooter aboard and there are 110 V outlets. Take a strip cord with you so you can plug in various electrical items.
    2. Looking at the deck plans, the Suites mid ship on Empress Deck 6 are the best for viewing(6154 - 6196 Port side) and 6157 - 6203 starboard side). If you wish an aft facing suite, 6258 & 6327 are some suggestions.

There are several choices in the cabins available for special needs.
The lowest priced balcony cabins are in the 7A category on deck 5, 5236 and 5245.
They do have some obstruction as they are just above the lifeboats.
They do have a very large balcony, 2-3 times the width of a standard balcony cabin.
I have stayed in 5245 and have had friends booked in 5236.
There are also accessible cabins in the 8J category on deck 6, 6234 and 6281.
    Cabins 7260, 7303, 8234 and 8239 are 8K category cabins on deck 7 and 8.
All 8 of these cabins are large enough to accomodate your scooter and the bathrooms are accessible also.
There is a raised threshold between the balcony and cabin that makes access to the balcony less than fully accessible.
I have been on this class of ship 5 times and am very familar with the ships.
Send me an e-mail and I will assist you in any way possible.
Include your phone and I will call you.
