Carnival Changes Itinerary for Spirit as Hurricane Sergio Approaches
Carnival Cruise Lines changed plans for the “Carnival Spirit” in the face of current forecasts for Hurricane Sergio. This storm sits at press time a few hundred miles off Mexico’s southwestern coast as a Category 1 hurricane. The “Carnival Spirit” left San Diego Wednesday (Nov. 15). Right now, the ship will stop today (Nov. 17) in Mazatlan as planned. It will call in Puerto Vallarta tomorrow (not Acapulco) and in Cabo San Lucas Sunday (not Zihuatanejo). Then, Monday will turn into a free day at sea, instead of the scheduled visit to Manzanillo. The schedule from Tuesday (set for Ensenada) onward will stay the same, as the ship heads back to San Diego next Thursday.
