    Cool Spirit N/B 5/27/2009

I'm delivering the Can Can to Bellingham, WA - yes, that's a Southbound Inside Passage cruise from Juneau to Bellingham aboard the 35' Can Can! Not wanting to be off the water long enough to catch a flight home, I've booked myself and my crew on the Northbound sailing of the Carnival Spirit on 5/27/09...

I'm actually getting off in Juneau and not reboarding, so I'll only be on board for the first 3 days. I haven't picked an excursion for Ketchikan yet... I'm actually thinking of going fishing if there's anything running that early in the season. KTN usually has a good King salmon run going that time of year, and there are almost always halibut and rockfish available. I'll check out the area with a few "test fishing hours" on our way South.

Anyhoo... should be interesting to meet any of you who might be on the same ship. Happy Alaska Travels!

    Hey Case!

I hope you get to meet some of our CLF folks on your cruise north back to Juneau.

Did I read it right that you are relocating to Oregon? No more Alaska?

Enjoy your 3 days on the Spirit and I hope the fish are biting!

Yep, relocating to Oregon... at least for the time being. I have several friends up here who firmly believe that I can't leave home permanently, and I think they're right for the most part. At the very least, I'm already planning a good number of summertime trips back home over the next few years, and I do still have a residence (two if our current house doesn't sell!) here in Juneau.

Anyway, the trip to deliver the boat and cruise back should be rather interesting. I've also got a 3-day bear hunt and a 5-day trip to Petersburg planned (as I do every spring) so the grand total when I'm all done should be well over 2000 nautical miles in just under 3 weeks. I'm going to put wireless internet technology (iPhone) to the test these next few weeks... If all goes well, ADVENTURE! :: http://adventures.cancancase.com should be a photo and commented journal of the trip that can be viewed live... I'm always telling folks to post a review when their trip is over, but I'd rather post WHILE the trip is still running. Should be interesting to see if technology can keep up with me in the Last Frontier!

    Happy Alaska Travels!

May 14 is the last update on his blog. He seemed to be having trouble with the signal....a couple of double entries.

Case, I hope your adventure is going as well as you had planned. Let us know how it's going.
