The Carnival Glory was the first cruise ship I ever sailed on because it was was located in my wife's home town in Cocoa Beach. The theme of the ship is Colors. Each floor of the ship was a different color.
Quote:
I;ve just got to ask .... how comfortable are these beds?
or will I be so tired that it doesn't matter?
The beds on all carnival ships are extremely comfortable and we love the sheets as well. The rooms are always kept ice cold but the sheets keep you plenty warm. I'm not sure if it is the bed or the rocking of the ship but I sleep like a baby. I seem to sleep less but I always feel energized when I wake up.
We did the Eastern Itinerary on this cruise. We visited Nassau, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. We loved St. Thomas and St. Maarten. Nassau was just ok. We did take the time to see the Atlantis resort in Nassau. We walked through the free aquarium and toured the facilty outside. It was extremely humid in June so we didn't walk around too much.
St. Thomas we did some jewelry shopping. Prices were a bit more resonable there. We also made a trip to Paradise Point up the gondola and Megan's Bay.
St. Maarten we absolutely fell in love with. We took a taxi out Orient Beach and spent the day there. The beach was beautiful and yes there were nude people running around with their ipods! Make for an interesting day of people watching. We will definately be going back next May when we stop there again. The beach had plenty to keep you busy including, jet skis, windsurfing, kite surfing, and parasailing. We also visited downtown to do some shopping. It was very hot down there but also very clean.
We had a great time on the shi as well. We spent most of our sea days up on the adult deck where it was quiet. At night we would go to dinner and then wait around for the comic to perform. One night they had an illusionist on board. The dance skits leading up to the trick were a little corny but the guy was impressive.
About the only negative I had was the dinner food. For some reason the food on the buffet always seemed to better than the food served at dinner. The service was great at dinner but the servings just seemed ok and I felt I always left hungry. I never left from the buffet hungry.
Overall, for my first cruise, I would give the ship an 9/10. We met some really cool people and had a blast. If you have more questions feel free to ask.

Hi Char, I will try to expand on this a bit for you and give you a review of both the Glory and the Fantasy when I get a chance. It may be a week or so because I stay pretty busy with work, cycling, hockey, and planning a group cruise. I didn't know exactly where to post this at so I thought I would atleast get it with the right ship. I'll be to get it right this time.
Also, I was trying to add pics to this mini review but it didn't work. I used the insert image link but it kept adding hyperlinks. I think I missed something on that.
