I guess they were letting maintenance go (thus the broken bed).

On my first cruise on the Holiday, I had a problem with smokers coming over to the non-smoking area on the deck and sitting right near the no-smoking sign. I was pregnant then so I would waddle over to any violators and stick out my tummy as much as possible (I was 4-1/2 months along but was able to hide it). Fortunately they must have had experience with those nasty hormones and didn't want to risk it.

I've grown out of my shy and retiring ways, but I'm not sure I'd'a thoughta that. I might have asked a staff member to do something, but fortunately there was a lot of space in the nonsmoking area between where they were and where we were. It wasn't affecting us personally so this was more of a personal gripe than anything. They didn't ruin the experience for us, particularly. Thank goodness.

But I sure don't remember having seen this happen on previous cruises. Or maybe I was just going to bed too early.
