We did a family cruise on the Pride a few years ago and it was our best vacation ever! At the time, my husband and I were in our late 40's. Our two oldest sons are married so we had 2 DIL's along, 2 Grandchildren, our three younger sons (22,18 and 13 at the time) my mom, my two sisters, and our sons wrestling coach and his wife. What made the trip great was deciding ahead of time that the only time we really encouraged everyone to be together was at dinner. In port everyone had different interests , so we shared info and made decisions based on what we wanted to do, no necessarily what the group was doing. It worked WONDERFULLY and not once was there any hard feelings in our group...not easy with 16 different personalities! Carnival also gave us a room for a Happy Hour since we had a large group. Free drinks for an hour! We did Spring break this year on the Miracle and had a similar blend, just a smaller group. In Belize my mom and I went cave tubing, one son went zip lining in the jungle with a friend, and the other son swimming with the rays and sharks with friends. It really worked well talking to everyone in advance about their expectations. My DH and I decided that we were not going to spend the cruise being tour guides and being stressed about what everyone was doing. It worked well for us. Also booked early and got most of the cabins next to one another. We used post it notes and the message feature on the room phones to communicate. Hope some of this helps. Every family is different and the ages of those cruising also determines a lot of your decisions. Hope you have a great trip!

Thanks for the info. Our party includes me, one son and family with 2 children, one daughter and family with one son. Was able to book 3 veranda cabins next to each other. Hope to have dividers removed between the verandas. How was the food? Thanks.
