    miracle upgrade

I booked an ovg and received an upgrade to room 5170 which is a balcony with an obstructed view. Does any one know how obstructed the room is ? I am very happy for the upgrade considering I have been on 3 cruises and this is my first balcony room, but I do want to be able to see out or I would not have booked the ov to begin with.

According to the Miracles deck Plan, your obstructed view is one of the life boats. Click on this link, locate cabin 5170 and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I've never sailed on this class of ship (Spirit Class), so I don't really know how obstructed it is. You can call Carnival or your Travel Agent (TA) and enquire.

What! those pictures are not pretty
I wouldnt consider that to be an upgrade unless I purhcased an inside.

I guess a cruise with a view like that is better than no cruise at all

That's exactly what I think it is, an upgrade from an inside cabin. 5A is a blocked view, not an obstructed view. If my wallet couldn't afford a balcony with an unobstructed view, I would settle for 7A. Here's another view of 7A from webshots looking aft.

yeah, I'm a little ticked but I guess thats what happens when you book an ocean view guarantee, but now theres nothing I can do about. If I was to change rooms I would have to pay more bc of the special they offerd at the time of booking.

First of all I would call whom ever you booked through, TA or PVP from Carnival, I would explain you are not happy with the cabin you have been given, explain you booked an ocean view guarantee and you expect an ocean view. Not an obstructed view. The very least you will get is the ocean view cabin,

The Miracle is a FABULOUS Ship, having just sailed her in January. Great food, entertainment, the ports of call and her layout is fabulous as far as navigating. And the parking and the terminal are first rate.

Dont hesitate to make that call.

Go and have a great time and be sure to report back about your trip

Like I said I called my ta and if i was to go back to an ov I would be charged x$. Not to worry though I'm going to have a good time not stay in my room. I just thought it would be nice to see out and not have to look over a fricken boat.
