Hey MJG! Welcome to our friendly cruise community!

Glad to have you here! I'm sure you will be getting some answers pretty soon. I also recommend heading over to the Carnival forum and ask your questions there. You'll find more folks with actual Carnival experience there. Here is the link--> Carnival Cruise Line.

    Congratulations on your first cruise!

We also have a great destinations area that you can check for great info on what to do in port.

Do you have any questions about activities on board, dining, entertainment, the embarkation/disembarkation process????? Just let us know and we'll try to answer any questions.

We went on the Carnival Legend twice last year, once going to Panama, Costa Rica, and Belize, and the other going to the Western Caribbean. I think you'll really enjoy the ship and the itinerary. Check out the destinations on the Forum home page for more information about each port that you plan to visit. There are plenty of people who can answer many of your questions.

Thanks all for the reply. Definitely will check out the forums. My husband and I are newlyweds and didn't take a "real honeymoon" so we are taking one this year to celebrate our 1 yr. We can't wait. Thanks again!

I haven't been on Carnival Legend yet. I plan to take it sometime in the near future, haven't booked as yet. The reason I want to take it is to go back to Roatan. I liked it because it isn't commericalized (so far). It is a poor Honduran island and the roads are full of pot holes and little kids beg for money everywhere but the people are cordial and nice. Many speak english so language isn't a problem. Before you go there you might want to check out Victor Bodden - Bodden Tours - Roatan Tours and Roatan Excursions - Roatan Honduras and book a tour with Victor or one of his drivers. We had Lionel when we were there. He took 4 of us anywhere we wanted for the entire day for $100 (we tipped Lionel extra). The cab was a little Toyota and it was a little cramped but we had fun. Lionel took us to the Iguana farm (everyone goes there) and then to the West End beach area where there are a lot of shops an restaurants and checked out condos. We had Lionel take us to where he usually eats lunch (we bought his lunch also) and had a good meal and visited with him about the island. We are not big on swimming so we were occupied with just touring. Belieze is not bad but do not venture off the main streets. There are beggers there also but we were told not go give anyone money. They have no welfare system there but were told that everyone has a family and the family is responsible for their care. As they said "If you don't work, you don't eat" Everyone speaks English since it was formally a British colony. Cosumel was still torn up from the hurricane so we didn't really get to enjoy it. Anyway have a great time. Cruising is SOOO relaxing.
