    Holiday Leaving

Is the Holiday leaving Mobile, Al? I knew the Celebration left, but I didn't think the Holiday had been sold yet. Then, I have heard that the Holiday was leaving soon!
What ship will take its place? Mobile is our closest post. I would love to get a different ship. Nothing against the Holiday, but it just has a little to much wiggle for me. Which suprised me, because the Celebration did not bother me at all. May have just been that crusie, or maybe it was just me! Anyway, I had fun on both cruises!
    Thanks, Emily

The Carnival website shows the Holiday sailing out of Mobile until Dec 2009 right now.

If by wiggle, you mean that the ship seems to move a bit more, than you are correct. The first time that we sailed from New Orleans, I noticed the same thing. I finally found out why. Even though the Gulf of Mexico is part of the Atlantic ocean, it is not as deep as open ocean. This causes the ships to have a bit more motion.

Even though Carnival as not made official announcement to pull the Holiday from Mobile, I would think that they would eventually replace this ship with a newer ship. Like you, Mobile is a very close port for me and I would love to see a larger and newer ship in that port.

The Holiday is staying in Mobile at least through 2009 as Janice mentioned. I haven't heard anything about the Holiday leaving Mobile. You are correct though, at some point it will be replaced.
The Celebration has left the Carnival fleet and will be replaced with the Fascination.

The Mobile Press-Register did a story back in May 2007 that lumped the sale of the Celebration to Spain with the sale of the Holiday to Spain. I tried to pull the article and post it...but it has gone into archive and costs $2.95 now (sorry I am cheap).

It is obvious that while the Holiday has served us faithfully ( 6 times) she is at the point of being retired. I do not expect her to finish out 2009....however, when ever they move her...they will have a larger ship right there to take her place...so no one will be without a ship to cruise on!!!

My opinion (and it is only that) is that something will happen when they make the big switch out in March when the Pride comes to Miami and the Splendor goes to California.

I expect a lot of switching to go on!!! But again...that is just MHO!!

Hi, I don't blame you for refusing to pay $2.95 for an archived document. As the Splendor, and the two Dream Class ships arrive, changes will be made.

With Carnival's new ship building plans on hold, I don't expect them to shuffle the deck anytime soon. Europe is a strong market and they may well end up getting new ships there and sending the older ones over here.

I kind of hope Holiday leaves, and brings in a new ship.
Mobile is the closest to me

    Hey Evan

I see you have sailed on the Glory and the Holiday. Was there quite a difference in the experence? Reading between the lines I get the impression that you would like a bigger, newer ship with more deck space and activities. Am I right?

    Actually yes!
I was really disappointed after sailing with the Holiday.
But the Glory, now that's a different story!
