Welcome Lass.. I'm going to sail on the Holiday on 12/5, you'll have to let me know how she looks after her revamping! There are lots of people here who can give you info on the ship, I know I've asked plenty

Hey lass! I've sailed on Carnival a lot and I'm pretty satisfied with them. I've never been on Holiday, but I know she's a tiny little ship, comparatively speaking. I'm sure she's just as good as all of her big sisters.

The Holiday was our first ship to Catalina & Ensenada. She was fairly small but very roomy for what we expected. She is responsible for our love of cruising.

Warrior, I have posted several notices about Carnival..am only familiar with Elation and Holiday. On both the food was awful, except for the buffet breakfasts. Fill up there and hope it tides you over til the next day. I am trying it again 11/7, it can't get worse..at least I hope. Do NOT order filet mignon, you could play frisbee with it. The staff were great, and those in dining room apologized so much and tried to find us something edible. The Talapia was wonderful, just hated to order that since I can get that at home. The lobster was dry and without taste, but at least you could cut it with a knife.

Been on the Holiday several times....

Downsize: No atrium. Personally, that is part of my cruise experience.
Since it is a small ship, it doesn't take many smokers to make
it hazy inside. I haven't sailed her since the new smoking
restrictions, but we will see on October 6th. The cabins
having a smoke smell has never been a problem.

Upside: The staff and crew have always been very warm and friendly. The smaller ship is easy to get around. The Holiday offers the same entertainment, games, fun stuff etc etc as the other ships.

Cabins are big enough for our family of four (two boys 17 and 14).
The last 2 times the formal dining room food was fine (except for the New York Strip...it will be tough and dry on all the Carnival ships ...or at least the other 10 we have been on). Soups and desserts are good.

Lido does not have the variety that the bigger ships offer, but you won't starve. Still has 24 hour pizza, ice cream and room service.

Holiday is coming out of drydock just before we get on...so she should be in good shape.

You will have a great time.
