Many people love Holiday & have nothing but good things to say about it. I personally did not like the ship or the service I received. Hopefully it was just a bad week as others have raved about it since my cruise a couple of years ago. Go with an open mind & enjoy yourself. Hopefuly the problems I had have long since been resolved.

I will be cruising on the Holiday on 10/10/05. First time cruiser and can't wait. I've read good and bad about the Holiday, but I am looking forward to having a great time no matter what. Hope to see you there.

Hey terresasmyth! The Holiday is a good ship for first time cruisers, in my opinion. It's not too overwhelming . You're going to have a great time. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask here at CLF! You should also make an intro thread so we can all welcome you in!

My experience on the Holiday was not a great one. It sailed out of New Orleans then. We had a small room, the person who booked us left it open for upgrades and said we should get one but we didnt. The first night my daughter went to climb into bed and there was a huge, size of a watermelon, black stain. They sent someone down about 1 1/2 hours later to change them on the top bunk. I couldnt believe they just made the bed up with that horrible stain, very obvious. They took the matress off the top bunk and drug it into the hall and changed the sheets, that was so weird! It was just me and my daughter celebrating her 16th birthday with this cruise. Then we went to the shopping orientation for our excursion. A lady that worked there, that spoke very little english directed me to the opposite end of the boat. Nothing was there, I found another employee and they directed me back in the direction I cam from, right back to the same lady. She grabs my arm and takes me across the hall and says in broken English,"It is here...Do...You...Under...Stand"! I thought oh my gosh how rude. As you may have guessed this did not make my day after the previous night. When I returned to my room I filed a complaint and contacted the home office when I was at home. They sent me a letter apologizing and offered 10% off of a next cruise to be used within 6 months.

This is probably like any other ship that things can always go wrong no matter where you go or with any cruise line, it just stuck with me on this one.

I found the dinner staff very nice, the casino a little small, they have a teen dance club my daughter loved, but no movie theatre. Very reasonably priced though.
