Trip delayed to rescue lost Cubans


Elbert and Audrey Heath were cruising aboard the Carnival Glory when the ship made a three-hour detour and rescued nine Cuban refugees. Someone spotted the Cubans' deflating green raft about a mile from the ship.

The 110,000-ton, 953-foot-long ship then stopped so the crew could throw the Cubans water, food and life jackets. The men had been lost for 10 days . . .
