    Freedom 8 day Western......

Hey folks it is that time again.......... We have researched a ton and have come up with the 8 day Western of the Carnival Freedom for Jan of 2010. Me and the wife have been on 2 cruises with Carnival and with their prices right now and the past guest perks it is just hard to justify paying a considerable amount more to go with RC. Anyways my question is this the 3 destinations are Cozumel, Costa Rica and Panama. As far as Cozumel every cruise we have been on has went here, but that is ok we both like it............ Were just gonna rent a jeep and do our own thing on the ocean side..........But the other two stops is where our questions come in..................... I like the rafting in Costa Rica and in Panama we are looking at the Canal tour, 2 oceans by train and the peacock bass fishing tour (being we are huge outdoors people). We have not yet decided on what to do just yet and would like some input from some CLF'ers that have been to these ports of call. Also what are some thoughts about the Freedom from those of you who have sailed on her?????? Thanks for any responses and MAN I CAN"T WAIT

I booked a CLF member on this same itinerary on the Carnival Freedom and they returned on Jan. 25th. They are from the UK and are still in the US. I'll send him a PM and have him respond to your query.
I did meet with him on Saturday and he told me the ship skipped Costa Rica because of a medical emergency, but they made it to Panama and did the Panama Canal excursion, so I'll let him describe that experience for you.

hi yes we've just got in to the u.k. now so i'll do this while it's still fresh in my mind.
we did the gatun locks and portobello tour which was the most popular one by far. we we're lucky because we saw two ships going through the locks, so close you could touch one and it's really interesting.
portobello is very nice and quite interesting as well. we stopped at an indian place that cooked iguana and indian bread.
the freedom is a nice ship, but not the easiest to navigate. deck 5 is the only deck that gets you aft to bow and a lot of the stuff is on this deck. food is good but our service was slow. two restaraunts posh and chic. we were in posh on the upper level.good deli sandwitches and 24 hr pizza . adults only pool at the aft end of the ship.big screen showing sports events and movies .
if there's anything more specific p.m. me

    kind regards davy.
