HOUSTON (AP) - An 18-year-old man died today after jumping off a cruise ship into the Gulf of Mexico.

How sad. And even though he jumped, the news media will report that this is another example of "cruises aren't safe".

Maybe we should all stay on the Non-Jumping side of the ship!

I wonder if this 18 year old was celebrating his drinking age arrival and tried this stunt.

going on a cruise is a wonderful vacation so why such a sad thing!!
I can't imagine doing such a thing I'm a big " Cry Baby ".

An 18-year-old who fell to his death from a cruise ship yesterday had reportedly been struggling after being identified as the victim of an horrific racial attack by skinheads.

I read a similar article like Char - it too mentioned that the boy had been beaten.

So sad!!!

I was reading about this over at CC and their lack of compassion for this young man and his family is APPALLING!!!

I feel so sorry for this young mans family. What a shame that in todays society, we have those that can be so cruel , that mock and make judgement on something that they know nothing about. My heart and prayers go out to that family. One of the reasons I don't post on the " other " board is precisely that reason!

I have just read this entire thread and I am appalled at some posters. A young man has committed suicide and you are having a pissing match with each other over who's opinion is right??? What is wrong with some of you and where is your compassion for another human being??

This poor young man endured something that NONE OF YOU has never had to, yet you past judgement on him and his parents??

My prayers go out to this man's family and friends as I'm sure they are devastated and heartbroken.

As for some of you posters, I only hope that I am never on the same cruise as you!!
