Thread: Pictures from Carnival Dream - 1/30/10 Sailing

We recently sailed on the Dream, on a 7 day cruise with stops in Nassau, St. Thomas, and St. Martin. We had a wonderful cruise, and truly enjoyed this beautiful new ship. This was our first cruise with Carnival, and we were not disappointed. Great entertainment, great food, great outdoor spaces, great ship, great cove balcony cabin, GREAT TIME!

DW Shelly on our cove balcony, and our friend Bob on theirs next door. We had adjoining cabins.




The Disney Magic was in port with us. We sailed out of Port Canaveral.



I really liked these benches. If I could have snuck one off I would have.

DW and I. See those smiles? We waited a year for this cruise, and man were we glad we were finally there.



The first sunrise.



Getting set to arrive in Nassau. Customs just happened to be boarding the ship almost immediately below our balcony.



Pics from Nassau would be here, if we took any. We decided to stay aboard ship, as it was an extremely brief stop. That, and we just really needed to decompress. I made my way to one of the hammocks in Serenity and alternated between reading, napping, and sighing contentedly. DW Shelly booked a massage at the spa.

Arriving in St. Thomas



Yes, we had a few drinks while in St. Thomas...and back on board before coming back to the cabin.

More to follow soon. Going to work out with my son, then off to a band booster meeting. Next...pics from our High Pockets Sail/Snorkel trip on St. Thomas, and our bus tour of St. Martin.

GREAT pictures! You and your DW couldn't look any happier!

Did you get any sea spray on your balcony? Constructing balconies on a lower deck inset into the hull was a novel idea.

The Cove balconies are such a great idea. I love it. Strange no one has thoguht about this before.

Thanks Char. I had fun taking them.

On one particularly windy sea day, with the wind coming at our side of the ship, we did get some spray. With the balcony tucked back in, though, we really only felt it when at the railing. It was nice and sunny even with the wind, and I spent a good deal of time on the balcony that day reading and relaxing.

Thanks all for the comments about us as a couple. We've been married for 23 years, and this was our very first vacation without our boys. We missed them, but we still managed to have a an OK time.
