Thread: Carnival Destiny -My Experience

Hey Folks,

Just got back from our honeymoon aboard Destiny, Southern Caribbean trip and thought we should share our opinion. Don't worry, we will keep in short.

We're very glad that we read everyones reviews before the trip as the tips came in handy. We thank you for that.

Went with very little expectations as it was our first cruise, hoped we would get the ultimate treatment as it was our honeymon, got absolutely NOTHING, had a very good time at all the ports, Destiny ship it self was a disappointment and the ship definitely is showing her age. We wrote a detailed review on cruisecritics.com if anyone wants to read in detail. It will be posted shortly.

Would we do a cruise again? Most likely but not with Destiny.
Hopefully all the other Carnival ships are not the same.

We may take a cruise on RCCL? do you think we're making a wise decision?

Sassy Girl, did you post your review to the boards on Cruise Critic or to their main page? If you just posted it to the main page, could you copy and paste it to these boards, as it can take several weeks for reviews submitted to CC's main page to appear.

Wow, you mean to tell me after the multi-million dollar refurbishment a year ago, this ship is not worth going back on? I sailed on Destiny in May, 2004, and it looked like a new ship inside and out, I loved the ship.I have sailed the Carnival Valor, but she was a much newer ship at 4 1/2 months at the time.

I haven't sailed RCCL, but my sister has, and she tells me RCCL is an upgrade to Carnival. I understand Princess is too. I'll be on my first Princess cruise for Thanksgiving next month.

Certainlly understand that it's always easier to do a report when it was a fantastic cruise than one that was less so ....
