Rude people on the Destiny?

I've been on 7 Carnival cruises. All of them were wonderful. However, one stands out as being my least favorite due to rude people. I was wondering if any of you have experienced this.

We were very excited to be sailing on the Destiny since she goes to Aruba. Unfortunately, there were many rude passengers on our sailing. I had children running and jumping over me as I lay in a lounge chair by the pool. The parents seemed oblivious to this behavior and the ship's personnel did nothing to stop them. When I tried to ask the children to stop, they pretended they didn't understand English and made remarks to me in Spanish that I think were rude (well, I believe I caught a few words that we learned back in elementary school that were not nice to say). They used the hot tubs like a pool and constantly jumped in and climbed out, practicing their 'cannonball dives' to splash lots of water. We also experience these same children and their parents pushing ahead of people waiting in line at the buffet as well. They would also crowd around the entrances to elevators and forge in before allowing their fellow passengers to get off. It was my first, and only, experience with rude passengers.

That's very unfortunate Pungo, We did not hangout at the pool when we were in port in Aruba on the Destiny, but I know there were no kids behaving like that at the elevator entrances and elsewhere that I'm aware of on our sailing.

I'm so glad you didn't experience this! I'm hoping this was an isloted sailing and not the norm. Honestly, if DH & I hadn't had our balcony to hang out on, I might have been disappointed in the cruise. On a bright note, the food & service was wonderful and none of the rude people were in the dining room during our seating.

Could it possibly been worse than the rude group of 700+ that we had on Valor?

I think those wanting to celebrate the Panamanian holiday should take a cruise to Panama. :thumbsdow

You had 700+ rude people on the Valor? Geez, I would've dived off the ship from my balcony at Gov't Cut in Miami, or where ever. That's like the whole ship being rude.:thumbsdow :thumbsdow

Ahhhh, the 700 on the Valor. I'd almost forgotten about them. That was an interesting group, wasn't it? In answer to your question, yes, the people on the Destiny were even ruder!

I've never experienced rude behavior on a crude but know many who have. It's sad how some people can ruin what should have been a wonderful experience for others. I'm asking also, as MD11F has, what 700 rude people on the Valor? I'd like to read about that if someone can direct me, please.

June Bug, e-mail me at pungo3@hotmail.com. I will tell you about the 700. I really don't want to put it on these boards.
