    Baby Strollers On Carnival

Hi. I'm taking a cruise in Sept on Carnival destiny with a child who will be 2 years old by that time and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the strollers that Carnival has for rent onboard. I beleive they are rented for a small fee and can be taken off ship into the ports. I was wondering what type of stroller they are.

Are they an umbrella stroller type or are they a sturdier type with a basket to carry a diaper bag underneath?

Also, does the stroller have a sun canopy on it or is it "open air"?

Does anyone have a picture of one they can email to me at mrsnshick@hotmail.com which would show what they look like, maybe you took a picture of your child in one or one may be in the background of a photo you took?

I'm not sure if I I want to go thru the hassle of lugging my stroller on a plane or rent one onboard. It depends on what the rentals are like.

I called carnival's 800 number but they don't know the answers.

    Thanks for any help.

    Diane

Let me see if I can find any answers for you!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Diane, I found this on the Carnival website, No prices though, sorry!!

Carnival ships also feature at least three swimming pools, including a children’s wading pool, and a corkscrew water slide. Babysitting services, stroller and “bouncy chair” rentals are also available fleetwide.

I think the rentals are cheap maybe $25 or $50 per week. I don't mind spending money for a stroller but would want one with a basket underneath and a cover for the sun. If they are umbrella strollers then I'll just lug myown but if they are what I woudl want in a stroller than I'll take the easy way and rent it!

    Thanks sue for your help!

A couple of years ago, my daughter was 2 years old and we were able to rent a stroller from Camp Carnival. They charged about $30 for the week, but who cares... I put it on my "King of the World" card (aka Sign and Sail) .

The stroller was pretty nice, and we took it to Cozumel on a really hot day. It did have a canopy and she was comfortable enough to fall asleep.

I found an umbrella stroller with a canopy and a basket by Graco for $35 at walmart....here's a link: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=2476222

It has 2 position recline and a parent cup holder! Not bad for the $$.

Kmart has one even cheaper though not sure how nice it is -- only $18....here's the link: http://www.kmart.com/catalog/product...gpCategoryId=0

We took our full size stroller on one cruise and it was very useful....it beats carrying a sleepy child the full length of the ship after a long day!

I would rather rent a stroller on-board than have to lug another piece of luggage as you board the cruise... Then again, you can always put your baby into the stroller as you are boarding.

I'm taking the Carnival Destiny cruise this week (8/21) and I'll be taking my own stroller on the trip (I like strolling baby right up to door of plane and getting stroller when planes lands). But I'll find out what the rules are and let you know when I get back.

We got a really good one at One Step Ahead...had to order it but it folds nicely and has a carry strap...we got it for Disney...we aren't bringing it on our cruise in April though...she is going to be 4 then. I will have more than enough luggage too!
