Carnival Opens Cruise Check In at Miami International

Carnival Cruise Lines announced today that they would be adding a cruise check-in terminal at Miami International Airport. Passengers boarding Fun Ships in Miami - who are also flying into MIA - will be able to get an "Airport Express" card to expedite arrival at the cruise terminal. You can also pick up your "Sail & Sign" card at the airport now, as well as purchase transfers/transportation to the pier right at the gate.

Carnival Cruise Line check-in service at Miami International Airport will be available from 8am to 2pm at Concourse D and H on days of sailings. Guests will be directed to the applicable counter at the gate based upon flight arrival.

This new service should make the entire check in procedure for cruises out of Miami all the more smooth. Do you plan on using the new service on your next Miami based Carnival cruise?

Nice! One less hassle. But it loses its effectiveness if you arrive a day early like a lot of us do.

True - or saves some real heartache for the other half who don't. In the day and of countless delayed and cancelled flights, I imagine this will come in handy for the folks that try to fly in a day in advance, too.

    Thanks for chiming in, Neal!

Great idea, all cruiselines should follow their lead. I prefer to go a day early and it would be nice if you could do it a day early too. If they have cruises leaving saturday and sunday as many lines do, if you arrive saturday it would be nice to check in for sunday at the same counters.

And maybe allow baggage check in at the airport so you don't have to keep lugging everything with you. That way you can keep the essentials with you while checking everything else on through.

Just thinking ahead for further simplification.

It does sound like a good program. It would be nice is luggage check in could be part of it but that could cause some logistic issues.
In theory, if you arrive a day early and stay near the airport you could return to the airport and use the program.

But would that be any better than dealing with it at the cruise terminal? I would think for logistics reasons, I would much rather just go to the cruise terminal than go back to the airport and then to the cruise terminal.
