We've never used it, but I've nearly tripped over many a tray left outside the cabins! I've seen some folks who get cups of coffee at the buffet and return to their cabins. I enjoy meeting new people in the dining room. With room service, there's no one to come by to offer more fresh cinnamon rolls! Room service would be a strong consideration for arrival at popular ports, where the table hogs linger too long at tables in the buffet. I'd rather have breakfast from a menu, whether in the main dining room or in the cabin.

Hear You! Often, it's a challenge to walk down the hall and avoid the room service trays!
