Carnival Cruise Line is adding a ship to the Port of New Orleans.
The port signed a three-year deal with the cruise line to bring one new ship to the port and replace the Triumph with the much bigger Conquest ship.
The Norwegian Spirit cruise ship will also now be based out of New Orleans.
Royal Caribbean also returns to New Orleans for the first time in four years.
The Voyager of the Seas is the largest cruise ship to call New Orleans home.
In all, four ships will soon sail from New Orleans.
Local business owners said they were excited about the change.
"About 2,800 people work as a result of the cruise ships industry," Port of New Orleans President Gary LaGrange said. "Those are good, hard-earned payroll dollars that generate a lot into the economy."
Port officials said they predict a record 1 million passengers will cruise from the port next year.
Such a feat would make New Orleans one of the top 10 cruise ports in the country.
